Landscape
Every year, we dedicate special landscape days for volunteers to come together to help maintain Manitoga as a resource and inspiration for professionals and the public. Landscape experts and Manitoga staff provide special training for teams working on major projects to ready the site for the season and to maintain Wright’s unique design vision.
2025 LANDSCAPE WORKDAYS
Saturday, April 12, 10am-3pm - Making Space, Capturing Light
Celebrate the arrival of spring! We’ll make space for new growth by cutting back spent perennials, raking, defining paths and tidying up in Mary’s Meadow—one of the first major landscape features that visitors experience at Manitoga. Then tap into the artforms of the landscape by creating your own Sunprint cyanotypes using plant material from the site– delve into the shapes, textures, and unique characteristics of some of Manitoga’s iconic plants.
Saturday, November 1, 10am-3pm
Roll up your sleeves and meet other arborists, horticulturists, garden designers and landscape enthusiasts. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcomed.
For more details or to attend, contact Landscape Manager Emily Phillips.
Landscape Workdays are made possible in part by a gift from Carol and Raymond Krizmanic along with grants from the Malcolm Gordon Charitable Fund and Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area.
